New Year, New Blog, New Goals

Hi everyone! Happy 2008 to all. 2007 was a great year and I sure hope 2008 would be greater. Looking back on the year that was, I could say, in a nutshell, I have turned from a saver to an investor. So this year, I intend to learn the ropes about investing. And thru this blog I hope to apply what I learn, earn from it, and then share it to you.

My goals for 2007 were kept in a to-do list in my cell phone. For 2008, I’m gonna post ‘em here, because I know that posting my finance-related goals here would help me stay on track into achieving them. So here it goes…

  1. Have an emergency fund that is at least three months worth of my current income before December 2008
  2. Pay off all credit card debts Pay off all credit card bills in full and on time
  3. Have a positive net worth by August 2008 Php1 Million net worth by 2012
  4. Avoid buying new gadgets (my achilles heel!)
  5. Increase my investments in mutual funds/UITFs
  6. Make money online Earn at least $30 per month
  7. Increase passive income
  8. Earn additional income thru “on the side” projects (I am a software engineer, by the way. Business partners are welcome.)

That’s all I could think of right now. I am yet to make action plans as to how I achieve those goals. Maybe you guys could help me out. Also, posting your goals and how you’d achieve them would be greatly appreciated.
