Lesson Learned: Get An HMO

Up to this day, I regret that I didn’t get my mom an HMO. She is a qualified dependent of mine since I am not yet married. I always felt that she was healthy, she won’t get sick. But she did. And it was costly. My mother was diagnosed to have stones in her kidneys, and the best thing to do was to remove them, of course. However, removing the stones were very expensive

Yup. Removing those little freaking stones were darn expensive. But there was no choice. I can’t stand the pain (physical & monetary) that my mother felt. And it hurts even more knowing that I could have helped her shoulder the hospital bills by just deducting Php600 a month from my salary. I did save Php20,000 by not getting her an HMO, but we lost around seven times more than that amount. What a hard way to learn a lesson.

Fortunately, my mom is strong and is in recovery mode already. And now I already got her an HMO. So that when unforeseen events come along, I’ll be ready. And I’ll make sure I’m there for her. But I’d rather hope that she’s gonna stay healthy. Thanks to all the people who prayed for my mom. You know who you are. You guys are angels. :)
