Globe Telecom’s iPhone 3GS Release Date

I just read at PhilMUG that Globe Telecom will officially launch the iPhone 3GS here in the Philippines on July 31, 2009.

Globe will be accepting reservations Reservations starting July 15, 2009. Customers can reserve by calling the Globe hotline at (02) 730 1000, online via www.iphone3g.globe.com.ph, or by going to any Globe Business Center.

The iPhone 3G[S] was announced by Apple in their annual Worldwide Developers Conference held last June 9, 2009. As of this writing, Globe Telecom has not yet updated their website nor displayed any pricing details for the iPhone 3G[S]. Hopefully, the price points for the new iPhone won’t be as ridiculous as last year’s iPhone 3G pricing.

For those who can’t wait for the official release of the iPhone 3G[S] here in the Philippines, several online gadget stores such as KimStore are already selling SIM-unlocked versions of the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet, which were probably imported from countries that already have it.
