What I Have Been Up To Lately…

…was mostly work. It sucks. I received my worst performance feedback ever just a few weeks ago. And I know it will affect my performance rating and salary increase (if there is any) in a bad way. Fortunately, I’m with a new team now. And I feel more comfortable working with them. But the damage is done. I’m just thankful I still have a job. :)

…Holy Week vacation. I felt the need to recharge. Thanks to my new supervisor who was kind enough to approve my vacation, I was able to take my fiancĂ© to my home town. I took her to the site of the oldest church bell in the Philippines, took lots of photos there. We went to my high school, then to the chinese temple, then to the pier, where she saw the river meet the sea. We also hang out with my friends. She finally got to know the other sides (or should I say bulges because of all the fat? LOL) of me through my friends and my former teacher, who did a great job of building me up. She also met my uncles and aunts who are all fond of her. And of course, we were finally able to tell our parents about our plans to tie the knot. It was a relief to hear that they are supportive of the thought of us getting married. Overall, this vacation goes down as the best I had ever.

…Laptop Hunting. Honey’s got a new laptop and a tattoo (Globe Broadband Tattoo, that is. It came free with the new laptop). And while she was at it, so did my brother Dane, who had to get a new laptop for school. His old laptop was destroyed by his pet, a dutch hound with no balls.

…WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2009. It sucks that I can’t max my created wrestler’s stats. But I love playing against my other brother, Chie, who just graduated from college and is now among the ranks of the unemployed. And instead of looking for a job, he chose to play for our barangay’s basketball team. But he has quite a lucky charm, a good looking one at that (That’s ME). He makes a lot of moolah from me (I always lose on bets and video games. LOL). Good luck bro.

…Facebooking. Well, Jersy (my fiancĂ©) and my sister Reanne, actually, are the ones addicted to facebook. Unfortunately in Cagayan, Sun Broadband Wireless was USELESS. While Globe GPRS sucked. Smart GPRS did the job pretty well despite being slow as dial-up. Also, we ran into a few issues with my Mac’s Internet Sharing. But it was their PC’s that were not properly configured.

…Stock Market Trading. Thanks to JonatsGonats.com’s stock market newsletter, I was able to make a 15% profit in just two days. It could have been a bigger profit though if I stuck to just one stock. But it’s all good. What’s important is I have additional funds to either re-invest or add to my emergency fund, which took quite a hit this month because of the unplanned vacation.

…Finally gave up on forex trading. It is hard to a jack of all trades, master of none. I had to drop forex trading so I won’t lost money anymore.

…Gadget Lust. I am contemplating on upgrading my MacBook’s RAM to 3 or 4 GB from 2GB. Also, in case $#!+ happens to my Mac, I wanna make sure I have AppleCare before my Mac turns one year old. And I still want an iPhone. tsk tsk tsk.

…24 hour bus ride. It was major pain in the you know where to be sitting on the bus for almost 24 hours. Darn those road works.

That’s all for now. Thank you for taking time to visit my blog. To stay updated, please subscribe to Geek and Money using your favorite RSS reader or via e-mail. Thanks!
