First Google AdSense Payout

first adsense payout

Aaahhh…Finally! Eight months of hard work (blogging, actually) has paid off. And what timing! Just when my employer decided not to pay the bonuses this March to save some $$$ and other people’s heads, Google AdSense comes to the rescue. Now I don’t have to worry about having to take out money from my emergency fund to pay off some unexpected expenses (new helmet for me and my honey’s riding safety, mom’s medicines).

I was supposed to hold payments from AdSense until my earnings reached $1000 but Tyrone of Millionaire Acts advised me to take the earnings out and invest them somewhere else, instead of letting the money sleep. At that time, my AdSense earnings just got over $200. It was a good thing I listened to him. Who would have thought I’d need the money this soon. Thanks dude!

Now that I had Western Union’s Money Transfer Control Number, it was time to hunt for the most convenient location to claim my first Google AdSense payout. James of Pinoy Money Talk made a post about how inconvenient it was to claim his AdSense payment at BPI. I called a BPI branch nearby and was informed that they only process WU transactions until 11:00 AM. Being the busy geek that I am, going to BPI was not an option. Next, I called up the Mail and More outlet in Convergys Bldg at Ayala Avenue. It seems the staff didn’t even know that Western Union had a Quick Cash service.

The two options nearest to the office suck. So I looked for a third one. And GE Money Bank came to the rescue, or so I thought. I went over to the branch and gladly complied with the requirements: fill up the Wester Union form, present two government-issued ID’s, and wait a few minutes. I got away with presenting just my driver’s license and company ID, though. LOL. One hour later, my honey and I went out of the bank, fuming mad, as if we didn’t receive any money at all. Why? Because it took ONE WHOLE F’n HOUR to get a payment that is supposed to be “QUICK”. What’s worse is that we have to go back to work at 1:30 PM and it was already 2:15 PM. I will never go back there to pick up a Google AdSense payment again. I’ll try other options next time. Fellow bloggers, you have been warned. If you value your time, never transact with GE Money Bank for your Google AdSense Payments. Until next time. :)
