Questions About Bonds

I read over today at Inquirer.net about Globe Telecom’s plan to raise Php5 Billion ($105 M) worth of bonds. I am very interested in investing in this bond because it pays 7.5% interest per year. So, to scratch my curiosity itch, I sent an e-mail to Ms. Salve of Money Smarts to ask a few questions about bonds. Here they are:

1. How much is the initial investment for these bonds?
2. Can the transaction be done online?
3. Do you recommend investing in this bond?

I got a quick reply from Ms Salve that she’s in the process of completing a post about Globe’s 3-yr and 5-yr bonds. I’m gonna check back at Money Smarts for her post. Meanwhile, I’d like to know what you think of bonds. Are they worth investing in?
