Making Saving Automatic

Automated savings didn’t really work out for me before. In my 3 years of being in the workforce, I have joined automated savings programs (thru salary deduction) more than 5 times, only to get out of them and withdraw whatever amount I have contributed in less than a 6 month period. As a result, I had no savings or any emergency fund. I depended too much on credit cards when ever I run out of cash.

But things have changed. I am no longer the swipe addict that I used to be. And thanks to a tax refund and other bonuses that I am now getting because of my new level, it is so much easier to save money and build an emergency fund. In addition to that, I am now more disciplined with saving my money for the rainy days. And to make things easier, I decided to rejoin an automated savings program that should help me save an additional Php40,000 for the next year. This time, I’m sticking to the plan. And for check and balance purposes, I asked my special someone to join me in this journey of getting out of the rat race.
