Lots To Love About The iPod Touch
I bought the second generation iPod touch 8gb five days after receiving my 13th month pay. But before buying the ipod, I already paid myself first by setting aside a certain amount for savings. That means despite the new gadget, my savings plan for 2009 is right on track. But that’s not the topic in this post. This is about the iPod touch, and why I love it so much:
- The iPod touch is way thinner and lighter than my previous mp3 player (Creative Zen Vision M 60GB). Never mind that the storage capacity is only 8GB compared to the ZVM’s 60GB, I won’t be able play all songs anyway. And besides, I have my external HDD for my storage needs.
- It can play games. Very convenient during boring times. It can’t replace my PSP for sure. But it gets the job done.
- It has a loudspeaker. Although not so loud. But as long as it can wake me up in the morning, I’m cool with that.
- Free applications from iTunes AppStore such as Remote. Remote lets the touch control iTunes on my Mac.
- It can sync with Outlook at work. My music, photos, videos, and apps are still synced using my Mac at home.
- Wifi + Safari. Way better than my PSP’s wifi and built in browser.
- Other PDA features such as e-mail, calendar events, contacts, notes, etc.
- More affordable than the iPhone. The iPod touch is like an iPhone without the phone, camera, 3G, and bluetooth; all of which are already in my Nokia 3120 classic, which I got for free. Why is the iPod touch more affordable? Because I don’t have to subscribe to another cellphone service that I don’t need. In addition, the initial cash out still costs less than that of the iPhone in its most affordable plan (touch = Php12,200, iphone = Php15,000 + Php1,600 monthly)
- And oh, and did I forget that it’s an iPod that can play music and videos and display photos?
