Personal Finance Software For Mac
Less than a year after I started working, I realized that I had to take control of my finances. Or else, I might not be able to get out of the rat race. So I decided to use a personal finance software to track my finances. Back in the day, I only had my smartphone to use. Then I got my Acer laptop and migrated my finance tracking to Microsoft Money. With it, I was able to track financial transaction I made. With Microsoft Money, I am reminded of my next credit card bill, how much I’m losing in the stock market, practically everything related to personal finance. I had no problems using it, at home and even at the office.
Until I got my Macbook. Well, actually until my trial version of VMware Fusion expires. I have quite a lot of data in Microsoft Money and I am not sure if other personal finance software can keep up with it. Of course, there are temporary solutions like getting another trial version of another virtualization software. But wasting 4 - 8GB of hard disk space for a personal finance software isn’t appealing at all. I tried several freeware apps but they don’t measure up to what MS Money can do. On the other hand, gnuCash looks promising, but I find it hard to install. I wanna give Quicken a try but I’m not sure if I can migrate all the data from Money. I want to explore other (open source) options. But if all else fails, paying for a license might be the last resort. To Mac fanboys like me, can you suggest any options?
